We are pleased to invite you to our Annual Old Augustinians Lunch which will take place on Saturday 28th September 2024 at the former St. Augustine's College and Abbey School (and former Les Oiseaux Convent School), 125, Canterbury Road, Westgate-on-Sea, Kent. CT8 8NL, the home of our school from September 1971 to July 1995.
This year, we will be celebrating the life of "Mr Edwards" who sadly passed away at the end of last year. Robin Edwards taught at our schools between 1963 and 1995 and for those years, was Assistant Headmaster responsible for studies. In the 1960's he also had a spell as Headmaster of Assumption House. Robin was a brilliant History Teacher and is fondly remembered by generations of Old Augustinians.
Whether or not you can attend, we would love to receive your stories about Robin so we can all share.
We are delighted to announce that we will be joined by Robin's Widow, Doreen, who for many years was Matron at our School and their daughter, Eleanor and Son in Law, David, who is also an Old Augustinian.
All Old Augustinians, former staff, friends and families are welcome together with members of our sister Alumni Organisations from Les Oiseaux Convent School, Westgate Ursulines and La Sainte Union.
We have sought permission to hold Mass in the Chapel prior to the lunch so that we can remember those at our schools who have passed on in the last 12 months.
The itinerary for this Celebration is as follows:
- 11.15am onwards. The bar will be open for tea, coffee and other refreshments
